An alternative exhibition space is a space other than a traditional commercial venue
used for the public exhibition of artwork. Often comprising a place converted from
another use, such as a store front, warehouse, or factory space. It is then made into an
exhibition space for use by an individual or group of artists. Given that many for-profit
traditional galleries have closed, new options are popping up. Come hear from people
involved in the local art scene and learn about some of the varying ways in which art is
considered for particular programming.
