DVAA and International House Philadelphia are excited to announce a new exhibition partnership. International House residents, alumni, and staff and DVAA members are invited to submit work to the first exhibition themed Intersection. Artists are invited to submit work that investigates, through process or concept, the point at which two things meet. Illustrating abstractly or literally, positive ideas of intersection! Artwork will be selected by a DVAA Committee. This exhibition will take place in the East Alcove Gallery, located in the public lobby of the International House building at 3701 Chestnut Street. A public opening reception will be held on Thursday July 6th from 6-8pm.

Notification of selection: WEDNESDAY 21st
Drop off of work: June 29th
Exhibition runs: June 30th- September 10th
Pick up: September 11th monday
Opening Reception: July 6th thursday 6-8pm
RULES FOR ENTRY
Exhibition is open to 2d work only.
Open to current members of DVAA and current residents, alumni, and staff of International House Philadelphia.
Artist may submit maximum of 2 entries. Largest dimension is 36in including the frame
Entry fee is $5 for DVAA members in good standing, please pay online
DVAA and International House are responsible for all press releases, listings, price lists, and gallery labels. Your participation is permission to include images of artwork in promotion. Artwork will be handled with great care, but DVAA and IHP are not responsible for loss or damage. Insurance is the responsibility of the artist by submitting you agree to these terms.
When the work is delivered the exhibitions director reserves the right to refuse works that are not ready to be shown because of improper framing, fragility, damage or low quality.
At drop off please unwrap the work for inspection. If any packing supplies are left with the work they may not be returned. Make sure to give any specific install instructions prior to drop off. If the work needs special handling it must be approved by the exhibitions coordinator before drop off.
The artist receives 70% commission on artwork sold from the exhibition and as a result of contacts made through the DVAA and IHP. Payment to the artist will be sent within 30 days or sooner after the show closes. All artwork left after pick-up date is subject to a $5.00 per day late fee unless other arrangements have been made. After 30 days the artwork becomes property of the gallery.
Label the back of you work with your name, contact info, price of work
You must fill out the submission form on the DVAA web-site under open-calls. It asks for your contact information, title, size including frame, medium, price, and a one sentence description of how the work fits into the theme of the exhibition. Number your images to match this list. This sentence and images may be used for promotion.
Total of 2 works may be submitted.
All images must be submitted as a jpeg, 72 dpi, 2500 pixels max on longest dimension.
Identify each slide as follows: 1_full_name.jpg
