DVAA serves both our members and the local Philly community through a combination of critically engaged exhibitions, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives. Summer 2019 Programming is our first of seasonal announcements, providing our community with a digestible programming format to select the best fit for their needs and schedules. Our 2019 summer programming is focused on providing unique community building and artistic opportunities to DVAA Members.


Crit Night
(formerly Open Dialogue) is a monthly critique session for DVAA members to present their artwork to the larger community for constructive feedback.

Salon Series
On select third Thursdays of the month, DVAA hosts a diverse speaker series specifically geared toward artists and creatives of all sorts.

Social Media 101
Learn the ins and outs of presenting artwork on social media channels during these workshops for beginners led by DVAA’s Marketing Coordinator, Dawn Kramlich.

Artwork Photo Booth
Utilizing our beautiful white walls and gallery lighting, DVAA staff will document, edit, and send you digital files of your artwork.

Arts Poetica
A curated series of poetry readings and writing workshops featuring prominent Philadelphia poets and poetically inclined DVAA members.

Creative Conversations
(formerly Tea Time) is a social gathering of DVAA community members and staff over light refreshments providing space for discussions about culture and personal artistic practices.

Book Club
A monthly reading group that reads and discusses significant literary works concerning pressing issues in the art world.

The Jawnt
DVAA staff and membership will convene at various museums, galleries, and institutions to experience the best of our city’s art scene together.

Critical Theory Discourse
A discussion group which brings together DVAA members to tackle challenging historical works of art theory and criticism.

Portfolio Review
Discuss your artwork during a sit down with DVAA’s Exhibitions & Programming Director, Bryant Girsch, who will offer feedback and help you explore new areas of artistic growth.
