YIN YOGA FOR ARTISTS: Connotations
August 20th | 10:30 - 12:30
How do words shape our daily lives? What ideas do we store in our connective tissue? Surrounded and inspired by DVAA's beautiful August exhibition, Connotations, this Yin Yoga workshop will guide you to free your artistic soul and examine your movement, perception and art practice. Taught by Stefan June.
WHAT IS YIN YOGA?
Yin yoga is a slow-paced, grounded and supportive practice that focuses on releasing the fascia and connective tissues of the body. With foundations in the meridians of traditional Chinese medicine, yin yoga opens up the energetic pathways of the body and allows for the free movement of energy.
HOW WILL THIS HELP MY ART PRACTICE?
Through exploring the positions in yin, we can start opening the physical body, releasing any emotional blockages and freeing our imaginations. Using mediation we hope to awaken our subconscious and make us more in tune with our bodies and art practice.
